Description
Hand-painted lead figures of famous Japanese warriors - Takeda Shingen ( 1521-1573 ) & Maeda Toshiie ( 1538 - 1599 ). Made by Del Prado, Japan, 2002 & signed on the bottom of each base. Both figures in excellent condition. 1:32 scale. 3" & 3 1/2" H. Takeda Shingen was daimyo of Kai Province during the Sengoku period of Japan. Known as the "Tiger of Kai", he was one of the most powerful daimyo with exceptional military prestige in the late stage of the Sengoku period. Shingen was a warlord of great skill and military leadership. Maeda Toshiie was one of the leading generals of Oda Nobunaga following the Sengoku period of the 16th century extending to the Azuchi–Momoyama period. His preferred weapon was a yari and he was known as "Yari no Mataza", Matazaemon being his common name.
