English Oak Victorian Game Chest, with an amazing fitted interior to include: 1) Lid with removable backgammon/checkers board, 2) 2 removable fitted trays, top one with inlaid cribbage board, set 33 checkers, and 30 dominoes; the 2nd tray empty, lacking the dividers, 3) below the trays 4 fitted compartments containing “The Royal Game of Bezique Rules Book”, c 1870, 50 pc playing card deck by De La Rue, London, lacking 5 of spades, 3 of hearts; 64 pc double playing deck by Goodall and Son, London, with a complete double set from 7 through Ace, no cards 2 through 6, this is for the game of Bezique, I believe, along with (2) Bezique game spinners/score guides by WH Willis & Co, London, and a turned boxwood dice tumbler; 4) The folding front of the box containing a complete chess set in turned ebony and boxwood. The box is stamped with an English registry mark indicating a date of manufacture of April 29, 1869. 12.5” wide, 8.5” deep, 6.5” high, in excellent condition, no damage or repairs apparent, minor losses to fitted interior
