Description

American, late 19th century. Pastel on board. Two matching young girls in golden frames.

Overall good condition. Some damage to frames and black speckling throughout. A few blemishes on the surface of the pieces. Measure 12.0" L x 9.5" H and frames are 17.5" L x 15.5" H.

Provenance: From the estate and lifelong collection of William Garrett Hodges (1946-2014). Hodges was a Virginia-based dealer of fine arts, with specialization in prints and rare books, having collected for decades. He supplied and consulted various groups on antiquities throughout his career, including the White House, the Vice President's residence, the FBI, and multiple film and television series.
