158. TWO SAML GABRIEL BOXED PAPER DOLLS AND 18th CENTURY COSTUME DOLLS ENVELOPE. Boxed sets have artwork by Betty Campbell. One set: The Costume Party, has two 8" front only paper dolls with wooden stands and twelve costumes complete with tag, face, and hat, original box with Gabriel tag, and booklet with stories about each costume (one costume missing the face); Second boxed set “Vintage Williamsburg Colonial Dress” Set #D 139, made by Sam Gabriel Sons & Company with six paper dolls and their costumes (Box has wear/missing edges and dolls/costumes appear to be reproduction). Also includes envelope with “The Story of Eighteen Century Costumes” with four uncut sheets. One sheet has half paper doll and one costume the other three have costumes only. Circa 1930s-1940s. Commentary: Very good condition and as noted. Estimate: $250/350
