Charles Schneider (1881-1952)
Circa 1930.
The elegant, baluster form vase with decoration of stylized fronds and pods in cranberry glass cut back to a mottled ground of internally decorated pink and purple glass is executed with Art Deco style influence. The work is that of the French firm Le Verre Francais under the direction of Charles Schneider and signed La Verre Francais top of the foot, engraved France on the base.
Measures 13.75 x 4.25 inches.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
