Description
A lovely scene of evening light descending upon the village of Cattawade, by the Scottish artist, James McBey, measuring 6 1/4" x 10 7/8", inked signed, pencil titled and dated, 1923, cat: Hardie-217, collectors stamp on back. Born into poverty McBey was primarily self-taught, becoming a very well respected artist and leading figure of the British Etching Revival. He traveled extensively throughout Europe, America and the Middle East, creating remarkable etchings of the places he visited.
