Place Published:
Publisher:Walt Disney
Date Published: 1950
Description:
Original hand-inked and hand-painted production cel. 10½x12½" (image area approx. 4x5¾"). Cel stapled to backing paper. Excellent condition.
A charming hand-painted production cel featuring Cinderella in her ball gown, hitching up her hem to show her glass slipper. Cinderella (1950) was Walt Disney Studios' second princess film after Snow White (1937), and it's the movie that saved the studio from near-ruin, after Pinocchio (1940), Fantasia (1940) and Bambi (1942) all inexplicably bombed at the box office.
Cinderella has become one of Disney's most beloved animated classics, and cels from this film are popular with collectors. Cels featuring Cinderella wearing her enchanted gown and iconic glass slippers are among the most sought-after, making this example difficult to beat.
