"Two-Fisted Tales #18 featured Harvey Kurtzman's first cover for an EC comic book, a scene from the inside story by Johnny Craig. It broke from the cover design used on the other EC titles, which set the logo in a separate box. Kurtzman wanted the cover to 'breathe,' so he extended the artwork behind the title logo to the top of the page... Kurtzman instinctively knew how to create covers with visual impact." – Bill Schelly, Harvey Kurtzman: The Man Who Created MAD and Revolutionized Humor in America. Fantagraphics: 2015, p. 167.
