Description
Meissen Group of the "Rape of Persephone" after the model by J. J. Kaendler, depicting Hades carrying the struggling and distraught Persephone on his shoulder, both figures lightly draped upon a parcel gilt rocaille base, the underside with with cobalt blue underglaze crossed sword marks, incised marks "1448", impressed marks "144" and iron red model number "41". 10" H x 6" W x 3.5" D.
