Chinese porcelain ceramic lantern shade in two parts, the shade with hand-painted famille rose decoration of three beauties amongst a landscape with flowering trees, scrolling foliate borders on turquoise grounds above and below a yellow ruyi border, the stand with hand-painted flower design in blue hues, circa late nineteenth century, signed to reverse of shade. 8.25" H x 5.25" diameter (overall). Provenance: Property from the Manhattan estate of Indrani Yogasundram who lived in many different countries with her husband, Yogaraj, during his decades-long career as a Sri Lankan diplomat. In addition to the heirloom jewelry she possessed, Indrani acquired jewelry, art, and ornaments while stationed in China (1960-63), Sri Lanka (1963-65), and Iraq (1965-1967).
