Autographed letter signed (ALS) of King George VI (1895-1952) King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth from December 11, 1936 until his death in 1952. ALS, 2pp (1-leaf double-sided) dated January 27, 1916, on Buckingham Palace letterhead. Letter details recent trip to Hippodrome, his recovery from recent illness and not being able to go to sea until April. Letter starts "My Dear Captain Fausetl" and is signed "Yours Very Sincerely, Albert". King George VI's given name was Albert Frederick Arthur George Windsor and he chose the regnal name "George VI" upon his crowning. This letter gives insight into George VI's health over 20 years before he was crowned king. Albert suffered much from a duodenal ulcer. Leaf measure 7" x 4.75" (sight) and is framed photograph (6.5" x 4.75") of waist up portrait of King George VI in uniform.
