[MTV]. Biker performer/crew jacket for the Moscow Music Peace Festival. All Access, Inc., 1989. Black leather biker jacket (men’s size 46) with multi-colored leather sleeves with a red leather Soviet Union motif on the left sleeve, a British Union Jack motif on the left shoulder, a stars and stripes United states motif on the right sleeve, and a German flag motif on the right shoulder (stars, some stripes, hammer and sickle patches in satin and sewed onto jacket). On the rear, is the “East Meets West” skull and crossbones patch with embroidery and sewn-on satin panels; near the waistband is the embroidered MTV logo in red and yellow. Jacket is lined. Some rubbing, mild soiling to jacket, mainly due to use. An excellent example of this unusual and rare jacket, given only to performers or high-ranking staff members of MTV. The 1989 Moscow Music Peace Festival was the first-time heavy metal musicians were permitted to perform in the Soviet Union. Over 100,000 people attended in person, and the show was broadcast to 59 countries; the concert was designed to promote peace and understanding between the Soviet Union and western democracies. Some acts included: Skid Row, Cinderella, Scorpions, Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi, and the Russian band Gorky Park, Nuance, and Brigada S. Provenance: The Bo Overlock Collection.
