Description
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. Screen-worn Decorated Waist Belt, worn by Ian Keith as Rameses I in the classic film directed by Cecil B. DeMille. [Paramount Pictures, 1956]. Belt with Egyptian-decorated gold medallion, worn during the scene when Rameses I orders the slaying of the first-born sons of the enslaved Hebrews. “Ramses I” “I. Keith” (both crossed out) and “Ted Witkus” is marked on the interior of the belt, (the belt was most likely used in other productions, which is a common movie practice – we were unable to determine who Ted Witkus was). Beautifully framed in a shadowbox with six scenes from the film, showing the belt. Shadowbox approximately 23 x 28 x 3 ½”. Not examined out of shadowbox. Excellent.
