Marion Campbell Kronfeld (1912-2004) Woodblock Print. "Woman & Angel".
She was a Southern California artist and illustrator during the mid to late 20th century. She illustrated books for the highly respected *Plantin Press in Los Angeles - most notably, "Design's Cut for Plantin Press Calendars 1941-1946: With some additional designs", and "Early American Inebrietatis." She was also an accomplished print maker of woodcuts, linoleum cuts, lithographs and serigraphs. Her works often convey the quiet dignity of daily life and contain instructive social messages. Throughout her life she also produced a large number of quickly executed, engaging ink drawings, watercolors and pastels.
