Featured in this lot is a Navajo spiny oyster shell and quartz Jacla necklace circa 1950s. The necklace features a wonderfully and professionally crafted spiny oyster, shell and quartz construction. The necklace shows discoidal spiny oyster and shells with eight spherical quartz gemstones that are ended in sterling silver aglets just before the necklace chain ended in a clasp. The necklace features a Jacla design to the pendant; The jacla is two loops of heishi that were originally earrings and sometimes fastened to the bottom of a stone necklace as a pendant-like attachment. The condition of this spiny oyster necklace is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this necklace from clasp to clasp is 27" and the jacla pendant measures 4".*
