DESCRIPTION: Meiji bronze lidded censer featuring double loop handles, three legs surmounted by beast heads in relief, and an open-work lid decorated with cloud designs and crowned with a qilin form handle. The censer presents further details of sculptural qilin in high relief around the body, geometric, meandering key patterns, and foliage throughout, completed by hanging loops. Sit atop a carved wood base.
CIRCA: Late 19th to early 20th Century
ORIGIN: Japan
DIMENSIONS: H: 17.75" D: 11.5"

CONDITION: Wear consistent with age. Patinated throughout along with mild scratching. Small split area at one of the qilins legs at the body. See lot description for details on item condition.
