Presenting an exquisite linen Appenzel tablecloth from the turn of the century that has four matching napkins. This Appenzel table linen is probably European origin and consists of hand done punch work and skillfully done satin embroidery with grey shading to the thread. The hand done flowers and flora are raised. Stitches are precise and skillfully done.
This skillfully made cherished piece is a wonderful example of white work needlework.

CONDITION
Condition is very good with two storage stains, some surface small smudges, that will come out with its soaking, and no holes, and the linen is strong and recently washed and pressed.

Small surface smudges and storage spots developed after I laundered and ironed and stored for a year or so and when handling accidently fell to the floor. I just did not want to launder and iron again, I hope you understand.

Appenzel linens of this quality are hard to find from this period and this superb tablelinen is a work of art. This square cloth will enhance any table setting.
