Vintage 14kt Yellow Gold Diamond & Blue Sapphire Ring. This is a size 6.25, signed M in a circle, and weight is appx. 4.08 grams. The diamonds intersect over the top of the ring with a row of sapphires - there are 7 diamonds that are in graduated sizes with the largest appx. 2mm, 1.5mm and 1.mm with six blue sapphires that are approximately the same sizes. The Ring has an open nest like look of gold strands that rise up from the band where the intersecting diamonds and sapphires rest and cross over. It sits up almost 1/2" on the top of the finger. The ring design over the finger is appx. 12.5mm by 10.5mm. The strands that create the nest look as though they are threads coming up from the top of the band. This is a beauty of a ring - great as a gift it is in that good condition. It is also signed 14kt P which is for plumb - some European makers use the P more frequently than US, in my experience in the jewelry I have had. There is a European maker Marks that uses an M but it is a different style of M. This did come from a PA estate. Age is uncertain but my best guess is post mid-century up to 1980's. See photos.
