Jean Dessès Haute Couture Dress,1960s
This dress was created by Jean Dessès, one of the leading fashion houses of the mid-20th century, known for impeccable creaftsmanship and cutting edge designs. Many desigers, including Valentino and Guy Larcoche worked at Jean Dessès before starting their own careers.

Pink silk evening dress with a pink, green, and yellow Ikat floral print. The dress is cut with wide shoulder straps that secure into the front of the boned bodice and the full skirt is secured at the inner-back knee, which creates extra fold around the hem and ankles of the wearer. The boned inner bodice is connected to an inner skirt, which is also connected to the hem of the complex skirt construction.

Condition:
The overall condition is fair. The exterior silk fabric is in good condition and the interior layer of the bodice and skirt is also in good condition. However, several areas of stitching appear brown and have failed, including in the waistline and shoulder straps. Several thread loops used with hooks at the center back have also failed due to becoming brown and brittle. The belt is in poor condition with failed glue and separating layers.
