Pair of Chinese Blue White and Yellow Cranes Porcelain Bowls On Carved Hardwood Stands. Potted in a shallow, slight deep, flaring rim with close mouth rim, raised on ring foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in yellow base color which contrast against blue and white color, depicted of many flying cranes through cumulus clouds and vapors. The crane symbolizes longevity as well as wisdom. An embroidery of a crane formed part of the regalia of the top rank of Imperial officials, so can symbolize the wish for promotion to a high official position. A crane is often portrayed with a tortoise longevity or a deer longevity and riches. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed brown script characters reign mark. Made in The Years of Guangxu Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
