Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue and White Festival Porcelain Large Plant Pot. Potted in a shallow, large thick and deep, flaring rim with close mouth rim, raised on ring foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of bustling village folk festival surrounded with dense tree, art philology bellow ruyi clouds and enclosed with flowers bloom. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze grayish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
