Description
Coral Ripple Macchia with Blue Lip Wrap and Clear Base is a large early Macchia series vase that Chihuly blew in 1985 for his RISD colleague & designer of his exhibition catalogues Malcolm Grear. Blown glass. Signed & dated on base. Dimensions: 18" x 14" x 18". Ships in original Chihuly packaging crate. Grear & Chihuly met in the 1960s when Dale set up the Glass Studio program at the RI School of Design. Grear designed Chihuly's first exhibition catalogue in 1981, & many others thereafter. They maintained & lfelong friendship.
