Description
A tough-to-find piece is this vaseline fig form Mt. Washington glass toothpick holder with fingered top treatment. Alas, it has lost a couple of fingers over the years, but still is a great rare piece. It reminds us of Mother Magnum's Great Uncle Sir Barnaby Van der Hosen, Earl of Butterscotch on the Thames. He was a fine old chap that before he was knighted by Queen Victoria, was a meat packer at the local butcher. He married into society. It was in the early days of his youth in the butcher shop he lost 4 of his fingers whilst chopping up fresh pig for the holidays. Mother Magnum always remembers him greeting his fellow man and extending his index finger for a gratuital hand shake. This gem of a toothpick measures 2".
