Description
Chinese eggshell porcelain bowls, two, one with gilded iron red Qianlong marks, the rim and foot with parcel gilded and monochrome decoration, the interior of the bowl with a dragon on a gold ground; the other with iron red Qianlong marks, the exterior with famille rose decoration and the interior centering a grisaille dragon. 2.5" H x 5.75" diameter (the larger). Provenance: Property from the Manhattan estate of Indrani Yogasundram, who lived in many different countries with her husband Yogaraj during his decades-long career as a Sri Lankan diplomat. In addition to the heirloom jewelry she possessed, Indrani acquired jewelry, art, and ornaments while stationed in China (1960-63), Sri Lanka (1963-65), and Iraq (1965-1967).
