Early Chester Hewell Face Jug Born in 1950s, and is the Son of the Late Harold Hewell. This is a outstanding example is southern folk pottery with this china plate teeth face jug with very early crude facial features. The face jug is more than likely one of his first ones he made. This one is very crude and has a amazing folky look to it. The piece is early 1970s, this is more than likely one of the first attempts and this one the handle broke off in the kiln. This is a signed example made by Chester Hewell for Phil House. This is fresh from a Washington Georgia collection and is a outstanding example of southern Folk Pottery. Condition, has kiln damage to the handle and some flakes on the ear. No cracks or repairs. Standing 8 3/8" Tall

Kiln damage, handle was broken off during firing. Minor glaze flakes around the ears. See pictures.
