A FRENCH RENAISSANCE REVIVAL MARBLE-TOPPED WALNUT BUFFET, CIRCA 1900, with a rectangular inset rouge Incarnat Turquin marble top within a conforming step molded border, above three ovule and long leaf detailed frieze drawers centering paired curling dolphin cast bronze handles, partitioned by two stylized shell and leafy pendant carved blocks with drawer locking keyholes, over a three door body with central door beautifully carved with a fruit filled basket above a horned wickedly smiling satyr mask issuing long curling tipped leafy stems, over similar scrolling beastly dolphin head topped stems in deep relief and framed by molded trim, flanked by two doors with same molding enclosing stylized shells above drapery swags suspending fruiting foliate pendants and each door flanked by fluted columns ending on a stepped molding base, each door mounted with a reticulated scrolling foliate bronze escutcheon and opening to a single adjustable shelf interior, includes one key. Marble top has some normal light surface wear, walnut body has a lovely patina, some minor surface wear from use, inactive worming, wood age shrinkage, and expected surface buildup in crevices.
