A FRENCH NAPOLEON III THREE-PIECE GILT AND PATINATED METAL FIGURAL SWING PENDULUM MANTLE CLOCK WITH GARNITURE, 1850-1875, the copper patinated figure of a classical youth holding aloft an adjustable gilt rod pendulum with faceted crystal sphere bob and spike finial, standing on a circular stylized groundwork base and verso numbered 4054, on a conforming case centering a hinged gilt metal and beveled glass bezel numbered 4054, opening to a leaf tip ringed white enamel dial enclosing black Roman chapters and blued steel Breguet hands over a single key aperture, flanked by circular beaded finials suspending foliate cast loop handles and raised on a flaring rectangular base with foliage detailed relief panels, within side lion head topped curling monopodiae ending in paw feet, mounted on a bowed rectangular polished black Belgian marble plinth with applied profile relief gilt roundels of classical deity busts, elevated on gilt ball form feet and includes one winding key, height: 20 1/8", width: 8 1/4", depth: 7 1/2"; together with a pair of matching figural three light candelabrum with scrolling foliate arms above putti figures representing summer/fall, raised on circular polished black Belgian marble pedestals, height: 20", width: 9", depth: 4 1/2". Condition

Re-gilt metal, copper patination has been cleaned and touched up, the attachment for youth's hand to the pendulum is very small, fragile, and broken but has been saved for use as example to purchase new one. The brass clock mechanism back cover is loose and bezel rim has a small dent. Simpson Galleries does not guarantee any timepiece nor clock mechanism.
