Description
A LOUIS XVI STYLE MARBLE TOPPED GILTWOOD CONSOLE TABLE, POSSIBLY ITALIAN, LATE 20TH CENTURY, the shaped rectangular Italian nero portoro marble top within a conforming frame and molded bullnose trim, above a ribbon-and-rod carved frieze suspending blossoming swags partitioned by block florets, over bulbous ribbon strapped berried laurel capitals on tapering circular fluted legs ending on long leaf detailed collars and box framed gem blocks, joined by a "C" form and straight molded stretchers connecting with a domed foliate pendant and raised on tapering toupie feet. Height: 32" Width: 52 1/2" Depth: 16 1/4"
Condition
Marble top has liquid residue marks, surface scratches wear, and buildup. The console table has "antiqued" gilding with spots and wear scattered throughout revealing dark red gesso beneath, some scuff marks, small scratches, and surface dust buildup in crevices.
