A Lighthouse Keeper's table lamp made by the Steam Gauge & Lantern Co. for the U.S Light House Establishment. The lamp is nicely embossed "U.S.L.H.E." on the top portion. It is hallmarked in faint, white painted stencil font "STEAM GAUGE AND LANTERN CO. SYRACUSE, N.Y." below the embossing ID. There is old red paint, mostly gone, and light surface rust over the entire unit. It has a great, old, age-earned patina. Three glass panes are guarded by two horizontal and two vertical wires. The square insert fount is complete with brass filler cap and shrouded, short-stem burner. The wire fount keepers are intact. There is a rectangular, ribbed, silvered mirror on the back panel inside. There is a rectangular cold blast air tube that reaches from the chimney, down the back, to the underside. This lamp is a RARE piece, and a real beauty in great condition. Condition: (Very Good).
