Nancy Dwyer.New York,b.1954
Titled "Yankees Go Home!" the piece is comprised of a metal star mounted to a Plexiglas board depicting the American flag. Dwyer studied at the University of Buffalo and began exhibiting with a group of artists now known as the Pictures Generation. She co-founded Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center with Charles Clough, Robert Longo, Cindy Sherman and Michael Zwack in 1974 and has had major installations in the Whitney Museum of American Art, MOCA Los Angeles, Contemporary Art Museum in Houston, Texas; Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo, NY; Kunsthalle Wein, Austria; Dunedin Public Art Gallery in New Zealand and the New Museum of Contemporary Art in NYC. This piece was originally from the Josh Baer Gallery, New York offered in Christie's July 11, 2006 auction.

Includes a Christie's label marked "11-Jul-06 Sale 1689 Lot 188" on verso.
