Russian work; Last third of the 19th century.
Enamelled silver.
Stamps on the base.
Provenance: private collection conceived since the 1970s between London and Madrid.
Measurements: 8 x 14,5 x 8,5 cm.
Enamelled silver work that represents the figure of a peacock and whose purpose is to serve mulled wine. The work is modelled on the Easter eggs created by the Russian jeweller Peter Carl Fabergé (1846 - 1920) for Tsars Alexander III and Nicholas II. Thus, it is an ornamental piece richly adorned with gemstones, gilding and cobalt blue enamel, raised on three lions symbolising greatness and power and topped by an eagle with spread wings symbolising protection and freedom.
