A 1890s stunning gold patterned silk brocade outfit, 2 piece in construction dress.
The bodice is decorated with standup wide collar around neckline. With an insert with vertical pleating, side closure and a stand up collar. Bodice is lined with a beige cotton and with 8 inner fabric covered stays. Has a front side hook and eye closures with a small gathered peplum at back. Curved sleeves with valenciennes lace edging. Some hand stitching, mostly machine sewn.
The skirt has a full back sweep with large pleating at back for a nice full fall, gathered ruffle flounce at front hem, gathered full bustle, and lined with beige cotton lining.
Still retaining its sewn in museum catalog identification tag at inside of neckline of bodice.

CONDITION
The outfit is in good condition. With discoloration of both underarms on the bodice, and on inside lining with some shredding of front pleated insert. No repairs.
The skirt is in good condition, no stains, no repairs, has shredding on bustle material in one area.
