Description
A beautiful pair of antique Russian silver mounted palisander wood photo frames. An oval aperture set into each silver-bordered palisander wood frame, decorated with silver ribbon-tied floral garland swags and cascades surmounted by a silver bowknot. Both frames feature a twisted-style leg support on the back and beveled original glass. Hallmarked on the underside and each silver side with an 84 Imperial Russian silver standard, a kokoshnik mark and initials EP for Egor Pankratiev, circa 1908-1917. Egor Pankratiev's mark appears together with Faberges as well as the Grachev Brothers' mark, indicating that both firms retailed pieces from his workshop. Provenance: John Azbach Antique.
