Plaque with Bullet Shot from "The Most Famous Gun in the World" Jack Ruby's Gun - This lot features a .38 special caliber bullet that was shot from Jack Ruby's personal gun, the .38 Special Colt Cobra used by the former nightclub to murder Lee Harvey Oswald, the assassin of President John F. Kennedy. This professionally framed lot measures approximately 17.75 in x 23.75 in, and includes the original certificate of authenticity issued by National Historical Mint, as well as an image of the gun, an identification plaque, and a signed photograph from November 24, 1963 featuring Earl Ruby, the brother of Jack Ruby. Jack Ruby was born in Chicago, Illinois to Orthodox Jewish parents who had immigrated from Poland. After being drafted in 1943, he served in the Air Force during World War II, honorably discharged in 1946. By 1947, Ruby had settled in Dallas, and was managing a series of nightclubs. At 11:21 a.m. on November 24th, 1963, two days after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald while the assassin was being transported to the county jail. Oswald died less than two hours later.
