Yazoo City High School No. 2. Real photo postcard. Several African Americans are pictured in front of the school near what appears to be cotton blooming just on the other side of the road. A rare Mississippi postcard that was probably made in a very small quantity. Postmarked 20 July 1915. -- Civil Rights Era class photograph featuring the "Class of June 1963 / David Marcus J.H.S. / Brooklyn." 14 x 10 1/2 in., framed to 18 1/4 x 15 1/4 in. (toning and some dampstaining, no glass over image, wear to frame). Verso with inscription "PRT / + / Shorty / Always / Elliott County (sp?)."[With:] HUBBARD, Elbert. Little Journeys to the Homes of Great Teachers: Booker T. Washington. Vol. 23, No. 1. July 1908. -- STEVENSON, Augusta. Booker T. Washington: Ambitious Boy. 1950.
