Item Details

Description

The boÃ®te Ã musique serinette is made of walnut. The roller, driven by a crank, is equipped with six "games" (melodies). In addition to the roller, the crank also drives the bellows, which make the serinette sound by means of 10 small metal pipes.
The serinette was very popular at the end of the 18th/beginning of the 19th century. It was used to encourage captive birds to whistle these melodies. The serinette is in working order.
Dimensions: Width: 21.2cm, Height: 13.1cm, Depth: 16.1cm.
