Condition: not inspected out of framing; appears to be good color, light toning around perimeter; shaken from hinging so hanging crooked under the mat. Period framing with light wear and small losses.
Carl Zimmerman was a well known Midwestern artist. He studied under Otto Stark at the John Herron Art Institute, at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, and at the Cincinnati Art Academy, where he later taught for many years. He was known for both easel and mural painting, and also did illustration work. Zimmerman was also a member and president of the Cincinnati Art Club. (Source: the Cincinnati Art Club).
