Dimension [INCHES]: 70" X 76"

Provenance: Silk center medallion quilt, all hand pieced and hand quilted, with vibrant colors and sawtooth and diamond borders. Could be earlier than 1840, and was found in Ohio but likely from New England. The hand quilting is dense, with close straight line and diamond designs quilted throughout at an even 10-11 stitches to the inch. The back is an early gray print, the tiny hand stitched binding is brown, and the batting is thin.
