Japanese Shibayama Inlaid And Carved Teakwood Etagere C. 19th.c., H 75.5'' W 50.5'' Depth 16'' Mother of pearl and ivory carved flower and bird images on front panels. Hardwood case with openwork carved detail. In two parts: lower cabinet consists of three drawers H 18.5". Upper cabinet has one drawer, five hinged doors and two sets of sliding doors. Applied carving is very complex and equivalent to the finest shibayama workmanship.
Condition
Outstanding piece. Good basic condition. Hinges on one front door panel need tightening.
