Description
Western Europe, Neoclassical period, ca. 19th century CE. A beautiful brass sculpture of a female, perhaps a goddess from classical mythology, standing atop a rectangular plinth with legs crossed as she leans on a baluster. Draped in a floor-length peplos, the lovely lady faces to her right, her sweet visage displaying all the traditional characteristics of the classical ideal with generously lidded eyes beneath a sweeping brow, an elegant nose, and bow lips. Her coiffure is comprised of wavy locks pulled back into a low chignon. She holds a horn in each hand as she bends her right arm bent upward and her left downward. Size: 4.6" W x 10.5" H (11.7 cm x 26.7 cm)
