Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Sinu / Quimbaya culture, ca. 800 to 1300 CE. An impressive tumbaga nose ring ornament with 52% gold (equivalent to 12K+)! The delicate wire is folded around the nostril opening and coiled into a petite spiral. Septum piercings were dramatic and striking visual indicators of rank and wealth for both men and women.
