Technique: Copper engraving on Paper
Inscription: Lower middle signed in the printing plate: "Leybold sculpsit.". Lower middle inscribed in the printing plate: "Adam de Bartsch Conseiller aulique et premier Garde de la Bibliotheque imp. et roy de la Cour Chevalier de l'Ordre de Leopold et Membre del' Academie des beaux Arts a Vienne".
Date: c. 1800
Description: Breast portrait of the Austrian artist and art writer Johann Adam Bernhard Ritter von Bartsch. His most important work, "Le Peintre Graveur" was published in 21 volumes (Vienna, 1803-1821) and is still considered a standard work on old master prints.

Rather good condition. Pale foxing and streaky rubbing in the image. Verso remains of old mounting.
