A late 18th/early 19th century and later satinwood and painted longcase clock
the dial signed Sam De Lesalle, Gosport
the arched hood above a pair of plain Corinthian columns, the trunk with canted corners flanking a crossbanded arched door, on swept plinth base and stepped shaped bracket feet, the whole with floral and foliate undulating ribbon tied border decoration, the door centred by an oval of a widow, the plinth base with a scene depicting Father Time, the 11' silvered Roman dial with subsidiary Arabic seconds and days of the month, the arch with Strike / Silent subsidiary, the brass four pillar movement with anchor escapement striking on a bell, with pendulum and a pair of lead weights, 214cm high overall
