Description
19th century oil on canvas painting depicting birds and vegetables, presumably at a kitchen window. Attributed to William Duffield. It is in excellent condition and comes in a frame which bears a circular exhibition/collection stamp on the back. Dimensions: (unframed) 57.15 x 76.2cm; (framed) 75 x 94cm. William Duffield was born in Bath, and was a student of the still-life painter George Lance. He painted still-life subjects and also portraits. Duffield exhibited ten works at the Royal Academy and 30 at the Society of Artists, Suffolk St. His wife was also a still-life painter and they sometimes collaborated.
