The screen is sturdy and usable but some of the panels need repair. Five of the eight panels are detached from their hinges for ease of moving. There is craquelure throughout the decorative panels and several of the panels have deeper cracks or breaks, several stabilized with tape, and some warping of the decorations. The panels are carved and polychromed composite material of some kind. Possibly not real lacquer. The frames have been later stained a darker stain and some areas of stain were wiped onto panels. Condition reports are available upon request. All lots are sold "as is," in the condition they are in at the time of the auction. The physical condition of lots can vary due to age, normal wear and tear, previous damage, and restoration.
