THE FOUNDER OF STAND UP COMEDY BOB HOPE SIGNED COLOR PHOTOGRPAH. Born as Leslie Townes Hope in 1903, Hope reigned as the king of American comedy for decades. Hope was a British-born American entertainer and comic actor known for his jokes and one-liners, as well as his success in the entertainment industry and his decades of overseas tours to entertain American troops. Hope received numerous awards and honors for his work as an entertainer and humanitarian. After some years onstage as a dancer and comedian, he made his first film appearance in The Big Broadcast of 1938 (1938) singing "Thanks for the Memory", which became his signature tune. In partnership with Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour, he appeared in the highly successful "Road to ..." comedies (1940-52), and in many others until the early 1970s. A beautiful 8 x 10 photograph with the spotlight on Bob Hope himself. A large bold signature with silver ink. Professionally Matted and Framed with an overall size of 14 x 18.
