White pine in original black painted finish with applied edging surround and wood gilt carved and applied letters reading: S.R. Peywood, nice old patina, Early note is attached referring to the store but hard to make out, includes the date 1848, Found in Maine.103 x3 x 14 1/2" high. Condition black paint circa 95%, gilt circa 98%, the letter P is missing part of the top, still VG and worth restoration.
