17th century, probably Charles II, framed and paneled back with carved crest over relief carved coat of arms with goat's head and scalloped shells, carved arm supports in the Gothic taste, molded seat frame, stretcher base, 40-1/2 x 22-3/4 x 17-1/2 in.

cracks, surface losses and old losses at front edge, rear seat board restored, early iron braces at rear legs and joints of stretchers, expected wear and losses at arm tops with one exposed tenon, shrinkage at back panel, some retouch at edges, other possible restorations (back of chair with later painted surface Â
