New World, Guatemala, post-Conquest period, ca. 16th century CE. An interesting ceramic pitcher with a round foot, a goblet-shaped body with a pinched pouring spout, a thin rim, and a thick ring handle attached to the verso. The upper portion of the vessel is covered with a glaze of pale-black pigment, and the foot and handle are unglazed. This vessel was created during a time of great cultural change. Size: 4.25" W x 4.7" H (10.8 cm x 11.9 cm).

Condition
A couple of stable fissures, minor abrasions to foot, body, and handle, and fading to original glaze pigmentation, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits throughout.
