Originally listed at $400
East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A traveling archery bow made from lightweight bamboo that folds in half at the center via an iron hinge. The central grip is a pair of wood blocks covered in cotton cloth, when in use, an iron latch and rivet keep the bow extended. The string notches are made from polished cow horn that fit into slots on the bamboo tips. A folding bow may not be practical for defense but may have been for sport- shooting clay pellets or martial arts practice. Size (extended): 46.25" L x 1.5" W (117.5 cm x 3.8 cm)

Condition
Losses to horn notch tips. Wear and staining to cloth grips from age and use. Some fraying and loosening of cloth from wood. Hinge functions, but slightly loose. Not recommended for use or constant folding and unfolding.
